Synthesites is the world leader in the industrial intelligent process (cure and resin arrival) monitoring and control, working in close collaboration with major composites manufacturers in wind energy, aerospace, automotive and other industrial sectors.
Our advanced dielectric monitoring systems based on the direct measurement of resistivity (DC) and accurate temperature of the resin has attracted great interest from world-leading manufacturing companies. Using the Optimold and Optiflow systems, the monitoring of the resin status such as resin arrival, pressure, temperature, viscosity, gelation, degree of cure and Tg can be recorded during product development and/or production using a range of durable and consumable sensors. Quality control issues such as mixing ratio, resin aging and other features can be also monitored and controlled using our technology. The complete range of our products i.e. electronic equipment, sensors and the software necessary for the unique online monitoring and control of composites manufacturing has been developed and produced in-house ensuring the high quality and the best performance.
Synthesites was established in 2008 in Greece for the commercialisation of the unique DC process monitoring and control technology for industrial advanced composites manufacturing. Our technology covers a wide range of composites manufacturing processes such as RTM, VARTM, Vacuum Infusion, Compression moulding and SMC and prepregs in Autoclaves for lab-scale and industrial applications. We are active in Wind energy, aerospace and automotive applications.
In 2015, Synthesites UK ltd was created in Bristol, UK, and Synthesites SRL in Brussels, Belgium, to serve better the European market.
In 2018, the Online Resin State (ORS) software was launched which coupled with the Optimold system can provide online an accurate estimation of resin viscosity and the Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) during production.
In 2020, the OptiCure system was launched for the automated and user-friendly industrial monitor and control of the curing processes mainly for the wind turbine blade industry and ultimately for any composites production.
In 2022, the Cure Simulator concept has been launched for the non-invasive industrial monitor of the curing processes mainly for autoclaves and bonding processes.
Synthesites is working in close collaboration with leading R&D centres in Europe such as the National Composites Centre (NCC) in the UK and the National Aerospace Centre (NLR) in the Netherlands for the continuous development of new solutions. We are also working through several funded R&D European projects with leading R&D centres, Universities and industrial companies.
