Since its founding in 1853, Hutchinson has developed its know-how, skills and technological
expertise for improved performance in safety, comfort and well-being. Hutchinson provides its clients with its strong capacity for innovation, its understanding of complex phenomena as well as a wealth of knowledge from vast scientific pursuits. State-of-the-art-technology implemented on various production sites are the fruit of active, concentrated R&D. Hutchinson is established the world over. Its development and production centres cover Europe, the Americas and Asia, allowing its clients to reap the benefits of a worldwide network with local service. Hutchinson relies on a professional staff of over 25,000. They practice their skills in 87 operational units spread over 21 countries. Hutchinson teams rally around three fundamental values: a will to overcome even the greatest challenges, an open mind and trust.
Hutchinson provides composite parts for Aerospace, Aeronautic and Transportation Industries with its brands Jehier, Strativer, Kaefer and Hutchinson Bodywork parts and composites Department.
The Hutchinson Research Centre, located in Montargis, France, successor to the former Applied Research Laboratory (ARL), was established in 1986 near the oldest and largest of the group’s plants. Today, it employs nearly 250 engineers and technicians. The Research Centre is first of all a showcase of expertise of the many disciplines operating within the group. Physical characterization, chemical analysis, materials formulation, digital simulation and vibration and acoustic analysis are but a few. With its cutting edge equipment, the multidisciplinary teams fully exploit their know-how in the form of technical assistance for the Group’s projects throughout its various businesses. Three major themes guide the Research Centre’s innovations: materials, products and processes.
- The development of new materials is a major concern that is at the very heart of the Hutchinson Research Centre’s endeavors. Without a doubt, it is what sets the Company apart from its competitors.
- Product innovation efforts conducted at the Research Centre are also applied to a wide variety of industrial applications everywhere from automotive to railroad equipment or even aeronautics.
- Meanwhile, process control is ultimately a determining factor of product cost control. Not only does it allow for substantial savings of material used, but it also dramatically improves process automation efficiency and significantly reduces waste while strictly respecting environmental regulations in effect.
All of these projects rely on vast resources available for testing, analysis and digital simulations that provide an idea of the performances that can be expected, the ability to optimize solutions and ultimately, validate them. |
